In the spring, the songbird migration makes the area one of the top five birding spots in the world! Monarch butterflies stop at Point Pelee during their annual migration to Mexico, usually during September. October brings the migration of the majestic raptors including many species of hawks and of course the bald eagle. Visitors can enjoy four seasons of hiking and biking along the Chrysler Canada Greenway, readily accessible less than 1km from The Wedding House. Five local wineries offer tours and tasting of their award winning wines. The Wedding House is the closest bed and breakfast to Pelee Island Winery, only a kilometer away. Of course you can always purchase a bottle or two to enjoy sitting on the porch or relaxing by the pool, or just enjoying quiet conversation in the living room. Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary, the John R. Park Homestead, operated by the Essex Region Conservation Authority, gives a view to the past of the area.
